Theory of Thermography:
Every object with a temperature above absolute zero (0 Kelvin =-273.15 °C) emits infrared radiation. This infrared radiation is invisible to the human eye. As the physicist Max Planck proved as far back as 1900, there is a correlation between the temperature of a body and the intensity of the infrared radiation it emits.
A thermal imager measures the long-wave infrared radiation received within its field of view. From this it calculates the temperature of the object to be measured. The calculation factors in the emissivity (ε) of the surface of the measuring object and the compensation of the reflected temperature (RTC = reflected temperature compensation), both variables that can be set manually in the thermal imager.

THERMAL IMAGING IN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

EDGE ELECTRICS REPORT:
a) Included are the IR thermograph pictures of various points in the distribution. Against each picture, we present our detailed observations related to reliability and safety. We categorize the potential risks involved with the particular location as shock to humans, short circuit or arc flash/fire. We further provide our recommendation for the necessary corrective measure(s).
b) We recommend weekly maintenance to be done (e.g. blowing of equipments; checking of lugs, loose contacts and cable insulation).
